After posting an 11-8 non-district victory over Dripping Springs on Friday on the neutral courts at Round Rock Westwood, the defending champion Georgetown Eagles return to District 25-5A competition on Tuesday.

The Eagles, who stand 10-2 on the season, opened the district's seven-match round-robin last week with an 18-1 domination of Cedar Park. Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Minzenmayer Tennis Center GHS will entertain Marble Falls.

The match with the Mustangs will open a busy week for Georgetown as they will play host to Westwood on Wednesday and Round Rock on Friday in a pair of 4 p.m. outings.

In Friday's match, the Eagles posted a 4-3 edge in doubles and then went 7-5 in singles to claim the victory. Girls doubles and singles were the key factor in the victory as the ladies swept all three doubles matches and five of the six singles encounters.

The doubles victories came from Ava Sieckmann-Elaine Flachs, Isa Cepeda-Mackenzie Watford and Macey and Madison Strait. Flachs, Sieckmann, Watford, Macey Strait and Madison Strait posted the singles victories.

The boys victories were earned by Nate Cretella-Mason Mays in boys doubles and Zach Miller and Riley Fonseca in singles.

The Georgetown JV was scheduled to make its season debut Monday afternoon in a match at Austin Anderson.
