The Georgetown Eagles will conclude a busy week Friday when they entertain 6A Round Rock in a 4 p.m. non-district match at the Minzenmayer Tennis Center on the GHS campus.

It will be the third varsity match of the week for the Eagles, who stand 11-3 on the season with all three of their losses being to highly ranked teams.

On Tuesday, GHS, playing with a lineup of primarily younger players, dominated Marble Falls, 17-2, to improve their District 25-5A record to 2-0. The Eagles who have outscored their first two 25-5A foes by a 35-3 margin will return to district play Tuesday when they travel to Leander Glenn for a 4 p.m. match.

Using primarily its usual lineup, Georgetown dropped a 15-4 decision to Austin Westwood, the No. 2 ranked 6A team in the state in the Texas Tennis Coaches Association's only poll to date. The Eagles' only other losses have been to Lake Travis, which is ranked third in 6A, and San Antonio Reagan, which stands ninth in the TTCA's 6A poll.

Georgetown was unranked in the coaches' 5A poll along with its seven 25-5A rivals. However, Liberty Hill is listed No. 4 in the TTCA's Region IV-5A listing behind Boerne Champion, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial and Dripping Springs. The Eagles did post an 11-8 victory over 12th-ranked Dripping Springs last Friday.

All four of Georgetown's regulation victories against Westwood came in girls singles from Isa Cepeda, Ava Sieckmann, Macey Strait and Madison Strait.

In the 25-5A victory over Marble Falls, the Eagles' only two setbacks were in boys singles. Doubles victories against the Mustangs were posted by Riley Fonseca-Flynn Yoder, Jackson Boccella-John Maloy and Ryder Case-Micah Azuma-Hall in boys competition and Haley Uhrig-Allison Carnes, Cepeda-Mone Harvey and Ariana Ettinger-Jacee King on the girls side. Josh Stock and Rylee Lane took the mixed doubles honors.

Boys singles victories came from Yoder, Boccella, Maloy and Stock, while Uhrig, Cepeda, Lane, Harvey, King and Carnes swept the six girls singles matches.
